How to deal with eroticism in this time of "#metoo"? 8 artists are invited to give their vision. How do different cultures influence our view of eroticism? What is still possible, what is not possible? During the exhibition a number of meetings, performances and discussions with the public will be organized.

The curator and one of the participants is Martijn van de Griendt (Eindhoven, 1970), documentary and portrait photographer from Amsterdam. He studied at the School of Journalism in Utrecht and the Royal Academy of Visual Arts in The Hague.

Subjects of his photography are often everyday things; young people play a major role in his work. He also made a name for himself by making special portraits of pop artists for the music magazine OOR and photographed at the Kamasutra erotic fair.

In recent years, his work has won numerous awards at the Silver Camera competition, in various categories and at the SO Awards. His work has previously been exhibited during, among others, Fotofestival Naarden and in the Kunsthal in Rotterdam. In 2017 he exhibited at Pennings with ‘Martijn to Go’. From October 2, 2019 to January 19, 2020, his newest project, ‘Martijn van de Griendt, ON / OFF’ is on show in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, which has been commissioning annually in the Document Nederland series since 1975. His 10th photo book has been published for this exhibition.
